If you own a blog or run a website or even read articles online often, you may have heard of the term SEO and maybe even know what it’s about. Or maybe you haven’t heard of it at all.

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. In a nut shell, our job is to make your website (and nowadays twitter, facebook, youtube video, linkedin, etc) rank higher on search engines when people search for something on google or other search engines.

This is incredibly valuable to you if you need more exposure and more traffic to your website if you’re trying to build a following or sell something. This is especially true for businesses and companies who sell a product or service in their local area. Although many business owners are becoming more and more aware of how important online marketing is for their business, many of them do not know where to begin. They might see a Yellowpages flyer in the mail and give that a shot, or they might have heard that having a YELP listing might help and sign up for Yelp’s business listing. Both of these things bring marginal benefit and potentially a few customers to the business but the place that brings the most traffic is still Google.

Which makes sense. Think about it:

When was the last time you or anyone you know broke their toilet and trolled through a phonebook, visit yellowpages, check magnets, or scavenge through mail to find a plumber in your area? Instead, you probably did one of these:

Jack Kim's Google Search Anatomy

You see, most people pull out their laptop/smartphone and search on Google for the same keywords for things they need whether that’s a lawyer, dentist, health club, window repair, dealership, etc. Then, they visit the first few websites that come up and choose the one they like the most.

Recently I did a video analysis for a local window and door repair and replacement company in the area:

Google Keyword Tool Example 1

The above image shows the results of Google’s Keyword Tool. It shows search marketers exactly how many times a certain keyword or phrase is searched on Google. I highlighted the relevant keywords for the window repair company. Totaling those keywords comes out to be 720 people per month searching for this term. Let’s say they agree to me doing SEO for their business and I went out and ranked their website on the first page of Google. Out of 720, let’s say half of those people actually visit the website. From there, let’s just say 5% of them actually call the company and ask for a quote or opt-in with their contact information. That’s 18 more customers that the business could service resulting in tens of thousands, if not hundred thousand more sales per month.

Do you now see why this is so important to local businesses? Really if you’re not on the first page, you’re basically handing customers over to your competitors.

And this is where I come in.

I am very good at what I do and I can make your website and listing appear at the top of google for ANY local keyword. Period. I guarantee it.
